The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

STRATEGIC AGILITY

It has been said that in today’s world of business, the term Strategic Planning is an oxymoron. The pace of change, in technology, in the dynamics of the global market, in information flow, and in the Customer’s perceptions, needs, and values, demand that today’s enterprises must match that pace of change. Operating in the future by strictly adhering to a plan created today can be self-defeating. Instead, ensuring your Customers’ success by translating their requirements, on an ongoing basis, into your optimized core processes requires exceptional agility in your response capability.

Has the rapid response capability been built into your information flow patterns (Knowledge Management), your digestion of gathered data,

your decision-making processes, and your transactions with customers and suppliers?

Is your competitive strategy explicit or implicit? Has it been developed explicitly through a planning process? Or has it evolved implicitly through the activities of the various functional departments of the enterprise?

Determining Strategy means clearly defining exactly WHAT needs to be accomplished to strengthen your position in the market, now and in the future.  Once that is completed, determining the Tactics means defining HOW you will accomplish WHAT it is that you want. We have observed that client organizations too often get the two tangled up and compromise the development of both. Participants’ history with how they have done things in the past often limits their thinking on what they could be accomplishing in the future.

A systematic approach to innovation and problem solving can enable participants to address the disparity between what is and what could be. They can break it down to its inherent contradictions, and then seek out the ideal solution that will clearly demonstrate a positive and measurable improvement in the enterprise’s condition.
